Description
The chlorine Feeder is designed for installation in the return line to an above-ground swimming pool, that has a filtration system with either a threaded nut hose connection or a standard 38mm (1 1/2 inch) hose connection.
The feeder uses small or large Trichlor tablets ONLY. No other type of chemical should ever be used in the feeder. It holds up to 9 large 200g chlorine tablets or approx. 1.95kg of Small 20g Chlorine Tablets and has a dial-type control valve to regulate the rate of water going through. The capacity in normal conditions should provide a minimum of one week of chlorination for very large pools or up to two weeks for small pools. By regulating the valve setting between + (more chlorine) and – (less chlorine) and the amount of trichlor in the feeder, you can easily adjust the chlorine feed rate that is necessary to maintain a proper chlorine residual in your pool.
- Always install your chlorine feeder after the heater. If there is no heater, install it after the filter. Damage to the filter or heater may occur if concentrated chlorine is allowed to flow through them.
Before Installation:
- Screw two connectors on both sides holds (Marked In and Out) of the feeder. Put Teflon tape (included) on the threads of each connector and screw them clockwise by hand.
- If the pool is provided with plunger valves or plugs to close the pool outlet and return, close them before installation. If there are no plunger valves or plugs, place the pump on a raised surface that makes its water inlet and outlet higher than the pool water level. Lower the pool water level to below the return hole. If the hose length does not allow you to place the pump with the hose on a raised surface, then lower the pool water below the return valves and pool outlets.
- Disconnect the water return hose from the pump and empty the hose, read for connection to the feeder.
For Standard 38mm (1 1/2 Inch Connections):
- Connect one end of a standard 38mm filter connector hose (not included) to the water outlet of the pump and the other end to the connector on the side marked ‘IN’ of the Chlorine Feeder. Secure hose connections using hose clamps or jubilee clips (not included).
- Connect the water return hose to the connector on the OUT side of the feeder. Secure the hose connection to the pump.
